Single layer forming fabrics are woven in 4-shed (Provides good stretch and drainage properties with small fiber loss and good sheet release.), 5-shed (Provides better stretch and drainage properties than 4-shed. Retention can be improved by increasing weft yarns. Primarily used on tissue machines.), and 8-shed for different applications in the manufacture of kraft papers, tissue papers, writing & printing papers, and so on.

4-shed 3/1 Stain Weave

● 4-shed single layer forming fabric

The 4-shed single layer is the most common polyester forming fabric used for papermaking. it provides good stretch and drainage properties with small fiber loss and good sheet release.

4-shed single layer polyester forming fabric is mainly used for producing cultural paper, print paper, tissue paper & toilet paper, packing paper, and so on. 

5-shed 1/4 Satin Weave

This forming fabric provides better stretch and drainage properties than 4-shed. Its retention can be improved by increasing weft yarns. It is typically used for packing paper, culture or health paper, and tissue paper.

8-shed single layer

● 8-shed single layer forming fabric

8-shed single layer forming fabric is the most wear-resisting one in the single layer screens. It has a long performance life. It is mainly used for paper bag, kraft paper, cardboard, corrugated paper, and so on.
